CHARMING CHA AM
Everybody's guide for where to go and what to do in Cha Am

Thailand’s climate is tropical with a mean annual temperature of 28°C and high humidity. There are three distinct seasons – the hot season from March to May, the cool season from November to February and the rainy season from about June to October.
Some locations see a lot of rain during the rainy season, but Cha Am has been granted a natural exemption by a range of hills behind the town that 'guide' the rain to the north and out to sea. It's not unusual to see a large anvil cloud behind Cha Am that looks very threatening but passes by. When the rain does break over the hills it is usually heavy and brief, and such arrivals often occur late afternoon, and are gone by the time you're ready to eat.
If you’re not a fan of the heat then holiday in Thailand during the cool season – the Thai climate during this time is hardly ‘cool’ in the traditional sense but you’ll find temperatures a lot easier to handle dropping to about 21°C in the central region and 14°C in the north. In Cha Am the temperature can still reach peaks around 30 but mid 20's is quite common, and there are often cool breezes in the evening.
When to come to Cha Am.
The best time to visit is between November and March when the Thailand weather is optimum and you’ll be able to take full advantage of the beaches. November to March is also Thailand's main period of national and regional festivals. We love December and January because of the cool evenings.
The peak tourist season is November to late March, with secondary peak months in July and August. If you’re keen to avoid the crowds and take advantage of discounted rooms and low-season rates, why not travel during the less crowded months (April to June, September and October). On the other hand because Cha Am remains primarily a year-round Thai holiday destination, any time is a good time!
